What is deblocking?
When you apply for
study visa in Germany you need to show finances to sustain your living
expenses. For this purpose you need to open a bank account in Deutsche Bank,
such account is called blocked account. If you decide for any reasons to close
this bank account and get your money back this is called deblocking the
account.
Why you need to Deblock:
There can several
possible reasons, including you change your plan to study abroad, or you choose
to select any country. One of the most possible reasons is that you get
multiple rejections and you decide to apply latter. For any reasons the
procedure of deblocking is given below.
How to proceed for closing the Blocked-Bank account in
Germany:
1. go to
ISB/KHR Embassy and get a DE BLOCKING LETTER, this usually does not need
an appointment, you may go from Monday to Thursday (you can call embassy
to confirm however)
2. Send
that DE-Blocking letter and your request letter through courier and in
original, both addressing bank on 2 issues:
A) Close
account
B) Mention
complete account details, and details to which you would like your money to be transfer
to.
Photo-copy of passport
can also be attached to the documents you send.
Do not forget to sign the letter you send by courier.

And what if someone got the visa then decides not to move to Germany. What will be the procedure in that case to get the money back and also get the visa cancelled.
